The new BOBOVR M3 Pro+ is pushing boundaries and comfort that I didn’t think possible with both the Meta Quest 3 and 3s VR headsets. Known for their S3 Pro Super Strap with hot swappable 10,000 mAh batteries and the cooling fan, BOBOVR has been a pillar in the VR accessory community for years. This new head strap though shows their willingness to innovate and improve on previous projects. It isn’t all positives though with this one as you’ll hear about in the video below or read further down.

Design Overview
The overall design has some familiarities in it but much of it is brand new for BOBOVR. First, instead of the friction bands that fit onto the Quest, they’ve opted for the over arm clips. I’ve never had any issue with either, but this definitely makes it a secure fit.
Next we move to the forehead padding. They have completely changed the design (and for the better!). Instead of having one large static pad, there is now a two piece forehead pad with a hole in the middle. Basically what looks like a back of the head pad but for the forehead/top of the head. It also has its own knob that allows the full forehead piece to move forward and backward. We’ll get into the why it does this later.
The top of the back padding is similar to that of the S3 Pro and E3 Pro. It has nice thick padding. The bottom, however, is a piece of silicone that has holes in it for breathing. It is not padded. This didn’t bother me at all.
Fit/Comfort
When I first put this one, I was immediately surprised at how nice it felt. It was the feeling I expected when I put on the S3 Pro but it didn’t happen. The M3 Pro+ enveloped my head in a way that I had never felt with any other head strap. It felt so balanced and comfortable. The way that the new forehead pad distributes the weight is amazing.
With the knobs on the back and the forehead, this allows you to actually where the head strap as either a halo type strap or elite style strap. You are able to get a nice secure fit or have a nice loose fit depending on what you are doing.
I was able to literally go upside down with this head strap and I wasn’t worried about it falling off. Then I was able to adjust it later while watching a FIFA game so there wasn’t any pressure on my face and I could remove the facial interface entirely. The hybrid function of this is a huge selling point for me.
Battery
The battery is where the cons start to come in a little bit. Not in and of itself but because of how it fits into everything previous. Let’s go over the quick details then I’ll explain.
The battery is 6500 mAh which is going to give you roughly 2.5 hours of extra game time (depending on what you are doing of course). It comes with a little charging dock for the battery which is a nice touch.
However, this is a brand new battery for BOBOVR which means it doesn’t fit any of the other head straps or charging docks. It can’t be used with the S3 Pro, E3 Pro, or even on the D3 Charging Dock. I wish it could have fit better into the existing BOBOVR ecosystem or that they would have just continued to use the B100 batteries.
If you don’t use any of the other BOBOVR accessories then this issue isn’t an issue for you!
Weight
The overall weight of the new M3 Pro+ is heavier than the original M3 Pro.

Without Battery = 365 grams
With Battery = 518 grams
This isn’t a light head strap, however, the weight distribution does well to disperse it.
For comparison, the S3 Pro came in around 560 when weighed in but the B100 battery is about 50 grams heavier than the new B60 so that is where the difference is.
Verdict
I’ve tested more head straps than I can count, and this one very quickly jumped very high on my list, if not the top. There are other straps that I still like for certain reasons but the BOBOVR M3 Pro+ might be the best all around head strap on the market.
If you are just getting into VR and want something premium right off the bat, I would recommend this over the S3 Pro. Again, the wow factor I was expecting when I tried on the S3 Pro happened when I tried on the M3 Pro+.
If you’ve tried it out, let me know what you think in the comments!
