Adding your own reference images to Vermillion VR Painting take the creative ability to another level. Whether these be your own photos or reference photos you’ve found elsewhere, getting them into Vermillion make creating your own paintings so much easier. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to add reference images on both Windows and Apple for Quest standalone, Quest Link, and for SteamVR. No matter your setup, I’ve got you covered.

How to Add Reference Images on Vermillion VR Painting

Quest 3/3s/2 Standalone:
Windows PC:
- Plug in your Quest to your computer
- Open the “Internal Storage”
- Go to “Download”
- Click on “Vermillion Reference Images”
- Drag any images you want available on the game to this folder
Apple:
-You will need Android File Transfer or something similar installed on your computer for this to work.
- Plug in your Quest to your computer
- Open the “Internal Storage”
- Go to “Download”
- Click on “Vermillion Reference Images”
- Drag any images you want available on the game to this folder
SteamVR or Meta Quest Link
- Only works on Windows.
- Go to “Local Disk”
- Click on “Users”
- Click on your username
- Click on “Pictures” (this might already be a shortcut on the sidebar*)
- Click on “Vermillion Reference Images”
- Drag any images you want available on the game to this folder
Other Ways to Get/Use Reference Images
- If you are planning to watch one of my video tutorials, the link to the photo will be in the description of the video. You can just click on that link and the reference image will come up.
- If you’re using the Steam or Quest Link version, you can just copy the link on your desktop and then click on the “Paste the copied link” on the browser tab in the game.
- You can download the images and save them to a place that you want, then access it via the browser in the game. For example via Google Drive
