How to Mute The Kids (and Others) in Meta Horizon Worlds – Meta Quest Tips

Share:

This might be one of the most important tips I’ve ever posted about. If you’ve ever spent any time in the Horizon Worlds or at one of their live events, you’ve probably had a similar experience to me. There are people and many kids talking the whole time and not talking in a way that I really want to listen to. Frankly, it’s disappointing the way that many kids are talking. So let’s get into it, watch the video below to find out how to mute other players and especially the kids in Meta Horizon Worlds on your Meta Quest 3 or 3s.

Get 20% off most Apps/Games on the Meta Store with code “TNORTHVR” until January 1, 2026. After that date, it is still good for 10% off. It can be used as many times as you would like so share it with your friends and family!

Steps to Mute Other Players in Meta Horizon Worlds

How to mute players in Meta Horizon Worlds - Meta Quest Tips
  1. Open up a Horizon World or click on Worlds to go to the Worlds Dashboard
  2. Click on the Settings gear in the bottom menu
  3. On the top, click on “Sound”
  4. Under Voice Channel, make sure that it is changed to “People You Know”
  5. To be extra sure (but not be able to hear anyone, even your friends) underneath turn “People Volume” all of the way down

Now you’ll be able to enjoy live events or various worlds in piece. This doesn’t stop them from making weird gestures but usually you can get to a spot where you won’t have to see anyone around you.
