Share:

If you’re into virtual reality and want a way to keep your headset, controllers, and accessories tidy, the MR Walnut Stand from Syntech aims to be that solution. With a strong emphasis on aesthetics and simplicity, at first glance, it feels less like tech gear and more like a piece of wood furniture crafted for your desk or entertainment area.

MR Walnut Stand with Meta Quest 3 and Controllers - True North VR Review

Where to Buy

This can be purchased directly from their shop: Syntech Website

Design & Build Quality — A Natural Look That Works

The moment you take the MR Walnut Stand out of the box, its premium solid wood construction is clear. The walnut finish gives it a clean, natural look that blends well with more refined desk setups. This especially work if you’re after something that doesn’t scream “gamer gear.”

It’s weighted at the base and features anti-slip pads, which means once it’s in place, it stays there, even when placing gear on and off the stand. If you care about aesthetics and want your VR accessories to feel more integrated with your room or workspace design, this is a strong point.

✔ Pros

  • Elegant walnut wood finish
  • Weighted base feels sturdy
  • Anti-slip pads keep it stable

Functionality — Simple, Thoughtful, but Missing Extras

The stand does a solid job of holding what matters:

  • VR headset — including models with a bulky battery head strap
  • Controllers — easy to rest around the base
  • Headphones — hang neatly from the top

It also includes wire management pads so cables can be tucked away cleanly instead of dangling everywhere. For many users, this alone will be worth the upgrade from tossing gear onto a desk or shelf.

However, at the price point, one noticeable absence is integrated charging. Many competitors in the VR stand market now offer built-in USB or wireless charging. While the MR Walnut Stand is functional without it, integrated charging would have made it much more compelling.

✔ Pros

  • Universal VR compatibility
  • Space for headset, controllers, and headphones
  • Effective wire management

✘ Cons

  • No integrated charging
  • Functionality is straightforward — nothing advanced

Assembly — Quick and Painless

One aspect worth highlighting is the quick assembly. The MR Walnut Stand doesn’t require tools or complicated steps. Most users should have it ready in minutes, which is ideal if you want a no-fuss setup.

Who Is This Stand For?

This stand will suit you best if:

  • You care about how your VR setup looks as much as about organization.
  • You want something stable and elegant without plastic.
  • You’re okay with separate chargers rather than built-in charging.

It might not be worth it if:

  • You want a stand that charges your headset/controllers directly.
  • You’re on a tight budget and want the most features for the lowest price.

Value — Stylish but Pricey

Price – $65 (as per their website)

The look and build quality are excellent, and for many setups the MR Walnut Stand will elevate the appearance of your VR gear. That said, given how simple the design is and the absence of extra tech features like integrated charging, the price feels a bit high for what you’re actually getting.

If style and minimalism are priorities, the cost may be justified, but if you want maximum functionality per dollar, there are other stands that include chargers and even RGB lighting for similar prices.

Final Verdict

Syntech’s MR Walnut Stand is a beautiful, well-made piece of VR organization furniture that does what it needs to do with minimal fuss. Its strengths are its premium materials, stable build, and thoughtful design. Its biggest drawback is that it doesn’t push functionality beyond basic headset storage and cable management, especially for the price.

Recommended for: VR users who want a clean, elegant storage solution that looks great in a living room or office.

Not ideal for: Users who want built-in charging, additional tech features, or maximum value over style.
