The Best Head Straps for Meta Quest 3 & 3s

Share:

Deciding what the best head strap is for the Meta Quest 3 and 3s can be difficult as there are many good options out there. My goal with this article and video is to help you make the best decision based on your needs and preferences.

Over the years, I have tested dozens of different head straps starting with the Quest 2, and then moving onto the Quest 3 and 3s. We are just going to focus on the Quest 3 and 3s here.

In this article, I’m going to talk about . For each head strap, I will post where you can purchase it (yes, some will be affiliate links), the main points including price, weight, type of strap, battery capacity, and other outstanding features.

When it comes to head straps, it really comes down to three companies in my opinion. Globular Cluster, Kiwi Design, and Bobovr.

Here is a list of the head straps we will discuss as being among the best. Click on any to go to that part of the article.

Globular Cluster CMQ3 – My Favourite/Most types of padding

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/bLQIIM-dPZo

  • Style: Halo
  • Price: $70 (often on sale for $55) + $23.99 for battery
  • Weight: ~300g (~400g with battery)
  • Battery: 1.5–2 hours of extra playtime (swappable, but not hot-swappable)
  • Comfort: Excellent — multiple types of padding, balanced pressure, and even better weight distribution with the battery or choice of thicker back pad.

This is my go-to recommendation for most players. It’s comfortable, balanced, and offers just enough battery boost without adding too much bulk. Though it lacks the fan and hot-swappable batteries of the Bobovr S3 Pro, the simpler design, lighter weight, and multiple types of padding available make it better in my opinion.

Bobovr S3 Pro – The Most Popular & The Best All-Around

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/z8Lzig0FWpM

  • Style: Halo
  • Price: $90
  • Weight: 550g
  • Battery: 10,000 mAh hot-swappable (2.5–3.5 hours each)
  • Comfort: Great padding and weight distribution. It includes a built it fan that works best when using their facial interface that has slots for the air to move through.

Before you write an angry comment about not making this top of the list, remember that everyone has their own opinion. The Bobovr S3 Pro is a solid head strap. Yes, for many people, this is going to be the best. I love the battery capacity and that they are hot-swappable. The padding is all really soft and thick. The fan does work (when used with the right facial interfaces).

It comes in at over 550 grams. This is the heaviest head strap I have used and the weight is noticeable (in my opinion). It doesn’t make it uncomfortable, but just know that it isn’t a lightweight.

If you pair this with the Bobovr D3 Charging Dock, it has a special spot where you can charge the hot-swappable battery making the whole charging system quite nice.

Kiwi Design K4 BoostBest Lightweight & For Workouts

Kiwi Shop Discount: “BRIANSLOAN” for 10% off

  • Style: Elite
  • Price: $84 (often on sale)
  • Weight: 350g
  • Battery: 1.5–2 hours (fast dual charging system)
  • Comfort: Lightweight and stable, though you’ll still feel a bit of front pressure due to the elite-style design.

Kiwi Design has been putting out solid head straps for years now. I enjoyed almost all of their designs and they haven’t failed with the K4 Boost. The Dual Charging System allows you to keep the head strap plugged into the headset at all times. Then you just need to plug the charger into the head strap and it will charge both at the same time. Not just one to the other, but two lines going to charge them both. The head set and the head strap will both be fully charged in 2.5 hours.

The weight of the K4 Boost is amazing, 350 grams. Almost all other battery head straps are at least 400 grams with the Bobovr S3 Pro reaching over 550 grams. This is still enough weight to act as a counterbalance but not excessively heavy.

I used the K4 Boost for a few days of VR exercise and alternated it with the Bobovr S3 Pro. Even with the fan on the S3 Pro and the halo strap design, I like using the K4 Boost much more. The weight difference was very noticeable, the movement of the headset on my face, and the amount of sweat. It was all better with the K4 Boost.

If you are set on having a fan, you can always get a facial interface that has a fan attached like the ones by Hibloks and KKCOBVR.

Kiwi Design H4 Boost – Awesome halo strap with more open/flexible padding

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/kSgHz2Ze8cA

Kiwi Shop Discount: “BRIANSLOAN” for 10% off

  • Style: Halo
  • Price: $99
  • Weight: 450g
  • Battery: 1.5–2 hours
  • Comfort: Flip-up design, good airflow, comfortable padding, not too hot.

This is the head strap that got me into halo type straps in the first place. I still enjoy using it and I have it on my Quest 3s almost permanently.

It has the same type of battery system that the K4 Boost does with its dual charging system. Though the extra battery only gives an extra 1.5-2 hours of play time, the fact that both the head strap and head set can be fully charged within 2.5 hours is great!

The design of the H4 Boost is different than most halo type straps. The forehead pad isn’t one large pad, it is a skinnier oval with a hole in the middle that can pivot. This allows for better forming to your forehead and creates less heat as there is less surface area covered. It also has another adjustment knob that brings the headset closer and further apart from the forehead strap.

It is more expensive than the Bobovr S3 Pro, but with its lighter weight, different design, and slightly more adjustability, it makes it a definite contender in this race.

Bobovr E3 Pro – Best Elite Style Head Strap

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/Lm1xIiMTHYM

  • Style: Elite
  • Price: $80
  • Weight: 450g
  • Battery: 10,000 mAh hot-swappable (same as the S3 Pro)
  • Comfort: One of the softest back pads on the market — supportive but a little warm. Great pick for Quest 3s users thanks to the integrated audio jack.

If you are a fan of elite style head straps, this might be the best option for you. The E3 Pro is awesome. It has thick padding, the same hot-swappable 10,000 mAh battery that the S3 Pro has, an auxiliary port for headphones (the Quest 3s doesn’t have one), and it weight about 450 grams. So it is a bit heavier than the K4 Boost, and I still liked the K4 Boost more for workouts and high movement games, but I loved this more in almost every other aspect.

KKCOBVR Q3 Pro Rival to the Bobovr S3 Pro

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/b11Ul8CynaI

  • Style: Halo
  • Price: $45
  • Weight: ~460g
  • Battery: 10,000 mAh hot-swappable (2.5–3.5 hours each)
  • Comfort: Good padding and weight distribution with the battery on the back.

It is meant to be a direct competitor with the Bobovr S3 Pro. Though it lacks the fan of the S3 Pro, it is more adjustable, has a top strap, and still boasts the same hot-swappable battery system with 10,000 mAh batteries. When I tried this one, I found it too tight for my head around the sides. However, I do have a bigger head and I know many people love this one!

Bobovr M3 Pro – A cheaper version of the S3 Pro

Bobovr M3 Pro head strap for Meta Quest 3 and 3s

Watch My Review Here: https://youtu.be/d42FZC5qNg4

  • Style: Halo
  • Price: $50
  • Weight: 430 grams
  • Battery: Hot-swappable 5200 mAh (1.5-2 hours extra game time)
  • Comfort: Great padding. Top Arms aren’t adjustable like on the S3 Pro

The Bobovr M3 Pro is the not as decked out version of the S3 Pro. The battery capacity is about half that of the S3 Pro, it doesn’t have a fan, and the top arm pads aren’t adjustable. But that all isn’t to say that the M3 Pro is a bad head strap, because it isn’t.

The M3 Pro boasts a simple but comfortable design. The padding is thick and the material is leather so it is easy to clean. It is over 120 grams lighter than the S3 Pro which is a big number. Though the batteries don’t give as much extra play time as the S3 Pro, since they are hot-swappable, you could still reach endless hours of play time. The price point is also a big factor for which one to get. Coming in at $50, that is much cheaper than the bigger S3 Pro.

K4 Duo AIO Audio Head Strap with Battery – Best Head Strap/Audio Combo

Kiwi Design K4 Duo AIO Audio Head Strap With Battery

Watch My Review: https://youtu.be/45NPML___70

  • Type: Elite
  • Price: $115
  • Weight: 450 grams
  • Battery: 5300 mAh (Dual Charging System)
  • Comfort: Great padding, comfortable earphone padding, can adjust so the earphones aren’t on your head.

The K4 Duo combines the comfort of their K4 series, the battery of the K4 Boost, with audio that creates a much more immersive experience while in VR. The dual charging system is the same in this head strap. Overall, the sound quality is good. Deeper bass and higher treble. The price tag isn’t low though!

Best for Head Strap For Laying Down – The original stock strap

As funny as it sounds, the original head strap that comes with the Quest 3 or 3s is, in my opinion, the best for laying down. There is no extra padding or battery getting in the way. However, if you are just laying down to watch a movie, just plug your headset into the wall for endless power. Though I think this head strap fails in every other comparison, at least it has one good use!
