The AMVR FC4A Ventilated Facial Interface is a comfort-focused upgrade for the Meta Quest 3 that prioritizes cooling, adjustability, and value. Designed with breathable materials and airflow in mind, it’s especially appealing for users running fan-equipped headsets like the BOBOVR S3 Pro.
After spending time with it, this is a facial interface I genuinely enjoyed using, particularly for longer and more active VR sessions. In the video below, you’ll find the unboxing, assembly, and my review. Further down, I’ll write it out for those who like to read!
Where to Buy the AMVR FC4A Facial Interface

Design & Materials
One of the standout features of the FC4A is its ice silk and PU leather padding options. The included ice silk padding feels noticeably different from traditional leather-style interfaces. It’s soft, breathable, and immediately cooler against the face. AMVR also includes a standard leather pad, giving you flexibility depending on preference or head strap compatibility.
The padding system is fully removable and replaceable, making cleaning or swapping pads quick and easy—something that’s especially appreciated after sweaty VR workouts or extended gaming sessions.
Comfort & Cooling Performance
Comfort is where the FC4A really shines.
- The top foam section is intentionally lower, creating an indentation that allows more airflow across the forehead.
- The rear foam is thicker, providing better wraparound comfort and pressure distribution.
- Paired with a headset fan like the BOBOVR S3 Pro, the ice silk padding stayed impressively cool throughout use.
The combination of breathable fabric and active airflow made this one of the most comfortable facial interfaces I’ve used on the Quest 3. Compared to leather padding, the ice silk material simply does a better job at maintaining a cool, dry feel over time.
Adjustability & Glasses Support
The FC4A includes side-mounted adjustment knobs that let you fine-tune the distance between your face and the headset. These knobs are easy to use, hold their position well, and make it simple to dial in the right balance between comfort, FOV, and glasses clearance.
AMVR also enlarged the eye contours, which is a welcome feature for glasses users. A light-blocking nose pad helps reduce light leakage, improving immersion without sacrificing comfort.
Head Strap Compatibility
Officially, the FC4A is marketed as being best suited for halo-style head straps and fan-equipped headsets. That said, in real-world use, I found that it can also work with Elite-style head straps when using the regular leather padding, as that configuration behaves more like a standard facial interface.
So while halo straps are the ideal pairing, compatibility isn’t as limited as it might initially seem.
AMVR FC4A vs BOBOVR F3 Facial Interface
When comparing the FC4A to the BOBOVR F3 Facial Interface, a few key differences stood out:
- Airflow:
The F3 features three built-in ventilation channels and does allow more airflow overall. - Heat & Comfort:
Despite better airflow, the F3’s leather padding felt warmer during extended sessions. The FC4A’s ice silk padding delivered a cooler and more comfortable experience. - Price:
The AMVR FC4A retails for $25, while the BOBOVR F3 typically costs $30, making the FC4A a more affordable option.
If maximum airflow is your top priority, the F3 still has an edge. But for overall comfort and cooling, especially with a headset fan, I prefer the FC4A.
Price & Value
At a $25 regular price, the AMVR FC4A offers excellent value. You get:
- Two padding options
- Adjustable depth control
- Good glasses compatibility
- Strong cooling performance
For the price, it easily competes with—and in some ways surpasses—more expensive facial interfaces.
Final Verdict
The AMVR FC4A Ventilated Facial Interface is a fantastic upgrade for Meta Quest 3 users who care about comfort and staying cool. The ice silk padding is the real highlight, and when paired with a fan-equipped head strap, it delivers a noticeably better experience than traditional leather interfaces.
If you are using the Bobovr S3 Pro head strap, I would definitely recommend this facial interface for a cooler experience with the fan. This is now the facial interface I use with that head strap.
Pros
- Extremely comfortable ice silk padding
- Excellent cooling, especially with headset fans
- Easy-to-use adjustable depth knobs
- Includes leather padding option
- Affordable price
Cons
- Best suited for halo-style head straps
- Slightly less airflow than the BOBOVR F3
If cooling and comfort are your priorities, the AMVR FC4A is an easy recommendation—and one of the best-value facial interfaces available for the Quest 3 right now.
