If you’ve been around the Meta Quest accessory scene for a while, you’ve probably heard of BOBOVR. Known for their clever battery-swapping head straps, they’ve built a solid reputation for making comfort and convenience top priorities. The BOBOVR M3 Pro takes a simpler approach than the higher-end S3 Pro, while still packing great value for the price.
Design and Comfort
The M3 Pro uses a halo-style design, weighing in at 430 grams, which is over 120 grams lighter than the S3 Pro. That’s a noticeable difference, especially during long play sessions. The padding is thick and wrapped in easy-to-clean leather, which feels premium and practical at the same time.
It’s not quite as feature-packed as the S3 Pro — there’s no built-in cooling fan and no adjustable top arm pads — but the comfort is still excellent once you get it properly fitted.
I did have to tweak the fit a bit. At first, the top arms pressed against my head, but lowering the front arms to their lowest position gave me the perfect fit. Once I got that dialed in, the headset felt well-balanced and secure.
Battery System and Power
The M3 Pro uses BOBOVR’s B2 5200mAh magnetic battery pack, which attaches securely to the back of the strap. The design is hot-swappable, meaning you can replace one battery while still using the other — giving you virtually endless playtime if you have extras on hand.
Each B2 battery adds around 1.5 hours of VR time, depending on what you’re running. It weighs about 140 grams. Bobovr does try to say that this is lighter than many other batteries. It is lighter than their B2 Pro but it isn’t lighter than many others. I’ve tested others that are 100 grams.

Performance Compared to the S3 Pro
Think of the M3 Pro as the streamlined sibling of the S3 Pro. Here’s a quick breakdown:

You lose a few features with the M3 Pro, but you also save money and weight — a trade-off that makes sense for many users, especially those who prioritize simplicity and comfort over bells and whistles.
In Use
Once fitted, the M3 Pro delivers excellent comfort and weight balance. The halo strap evenly distributes pressure and reduces facial strain which is something Meta’s default strap struggles with.
The magnetic battery system is one of the best features. It’s easy to detach and swap without interrupting your game, and because it’s designed specifically for the headset, it feels secure and well-balanced.
Price and Value
At around $50 USD, the BOBOVR M3 Pro is a great middle-ground option. You still get BOBOVR’s excellent build quality, comfort, and swappable battery system — without paying the premium for the S3 Pro.
If you play long sessions or frequently use mixed reality (MR) features, this strap adds a ton of practicality without breaking the bank.
Is the Bobovr M3 Pro Worth It?
The BOBOVR M3 Pro is the best lightweight alternative to the S3 Pro. You get the comfort, balance, and smart battery system BOBOVR is known for, at a much lower price point.
It may lack a few premium touches, but if you’re after comfort, long play sessions, and a clean, simple design — this strap absolutely delivers.
