Double Tap Controllers to Enable Hand Tracking on Meta Quest 3 & 3s – Meta Quest Tips

Share:

Did you know that you can double tap your controllers together to enable hand tracking on your Meta Quest 3 and 3s headsets. Hand tracking is mandatory in some games, in which it will turn on automatically, but in other games or just on the Home Screen, it is optional. I enjoy using hand tracking when watching movies or shows, needing to do a quick check and don’t want to bother with the controllers, or in some games that have it optional.

I will show you how to double tap (tap, not bash) and where to find that setting in the Settings Menu in order to enable that option in the video below.

To enable hand tracking, and the double tap method to enable it, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Settings
  2. Scroll on the left-hand side to Movement Tracking
  3. Select Movement Tracking
  4. Make sure the first option is enabled
  5. Enable the Double Tap option (3rd one from the top)

You don’t need to be aggressive when tapping the controllers together either. Just a gentle double tap will do the trick.

What apps/games are your favourite for Hand-Tracking?
