When it comes to upgrading the comfort of the Meta Quest 3, one of the biggest improvements (and most looked over) you can make is replacing the stock facial interface. AMVR has become one of the most popular companies for Quest 3 comfort accessories thanks to their adjustable facial interfaces, thick padding, solid ventilation, and reasonable pricing.
In this comparison, we’re looking at four different AMVR facial interfaces for the Meta Quest 3:
- FC4L
- FC4A
- FC4M
- FC3 (Upgraded Facial Interface)
Important: None of these facial interfaces are compatible with the Meta Quest 3S.

Why Upgrade the Quest 3 Facial Interface?
The stock Quest 3 facial interface gets the job done, but it can feel uncomfortable during longer VR sessions. Sweat buildup, lens fogging, pressure around the forehead, and difficult-to-clean fabric are common complaints.
AMVR’s facial interfaces improve:
- Comfort during long sessions
- Airflow and ventilation
- Lens fog reduction
- Ease of cleaning
- Glasses compatibility
- Overall immersion
One of AMVR’s best features across all of these models is the adjustable knob system that lets you fine-tune the distance between your face and the lenses. This is especially useful for users with glasses or prescription lens inserts (like me).
AMVR FC4L – Best Budget Upgrade

FC4L: Not on the AMVR Shop Page Yet
The FC4L is probably the best value facial interface upgrade for the Quest 3. If you simply want a massive comfort improvement over the stock interface without spending much money and don’t need the extras that the others offer, this is the one to look at.
It includes a soft PU leather face pad that evenly distributes pressure across the face and makes the headset far more comfortable for longer sessions. The leather material is also extremely easy to clean compared to the stock cloth padding. Which makes it great if you share the headset with others.
AMVR also added ventilation openings along the top and sides to improve airflow and reduce lens fogging during active VR games like Beat Saber, boxing simulators, and FPS titles.
The adjustable knob system is another huge plus. You can fine-tune the facial distance for comfort and improved FOV while also preventing glasses from touching the headset lenses.
Pros
- Excellent comfort for the price
- Easy-to-clean PU leather padding
- Great ventilation
- Adjustable facial distance
- Excellent for glasses users
- Affordable
Cons
- Only includes leather padding
- Not specifically optimized for halo straps with fans
Best For
Users who want the biggest comfort upgrade possible at a low price.
AMVR FC4A – Best for Halo Straps with Fans

FC4A: AMVR Shop
The FC4A is specifically designed for halo-style head straps, and more specifically, ones that include built-in fans like the AMVR BS1 or BOBOVR S3 Pro.
The standout feature here is the recessed ice silk forehead padding design. When paired with a fan-equipped halo strap, airflow moves more efficiently across your face and forehead, helping keep you cooler during longer sessions.
The ice silk material feels breathable and comfortable during active gameplay, while the included PU leather pad gives you the option of easier cleaning and sharing.
Ventilation has also been improved with additional vents on the top and sides of the interface to reduce heat buildup and fogging.
Pros
- Excellent airflow with fan-equipped straps
- Comfortable ice silk padding
- Includes replaceable leather pad
- Adjustable stepless knob system
- Reduced facial pressure
Cons
- Best suited for halo straps with fans
- Not ideal for Elite-style straps
Best For
Users with the AMVR BS1, BOBOVR S3 Pro, or other halo straps with fans (not that I really know of any).
AMVR FC4M – Premium Magnetic Option

FC4M: AMVR Shop
The FC4M takes the FC4A concept and improves it with a premium magnetic quick-swap system.
The magnetic face pad can be removed and reattached in about a second, making it incredibly convenient for wiping sweat, cleaning, or sharing the headset with others.
Like the FC4A, it features ice silk cooling padding and enhanced airflow channels that work especially well with halo straps that include fans.
The FC4M also offers excellent comfort thanks to its pressure-distributing design and compatibility with halo head straps. The adjustable knob system again makes it easy to dial in the perfect fit and avoid lens contact for glasses users.
Compared to the FC4A, the FC4M has slightly better venting (in my opinion) and the added convenience of magnetic padding.
Pros
- Magnetic quick-swap face pad
- Excellent ventilation
- Cooling ice silk material
- Great with fan-equipped halo straps
- Very comfortable for long sessions
- Easy cleaning and maintenance
Cons
- More expensive than the FC4A
- Overkill if you don’t care about magnetic swapping
Best For
Quest 3 users who want the most premium halo strap facial interface experience that use a halo type head strap with a fan.
AMVR FC3 (Upgraded Facial Interface) – Most Versatile

FC3 (Upgraded Facial Interface): AMVR Shop
The FC3 remains one of the most versatile options in AMVR’s lineup.
Unlike the FC4 series, the FC3 includes both an ice silk cushion and a PU leather cushion in the box. That makes it easy to swap between breathable active-use padding and easy-clean leather depending on what you’re doing.
The upgraded forehead padding is especially comfortable when paired with Elite-style straps, and the Y-shaped ventilation system helps reduce lens fogging during active gameplay.
The FC3 also comes in two versions:
- Regular version
- Narrow version for halo-style straps
That said, even the regular version works surprisingly well with many halo head straps from my experience. Some users complain that the oversized top padding gets in the way of the forehead padding on some halo straps.
Pros
- Includes both leather and ice silk pads
- Very comfortable forehead padding
- Good ventilation
- Adjustable knob system
- Works with multiple strap styles
- Great overall versatility
Cons
- Ventilation isn’t quite as aggressive as the FC4M
- Magnetic system not included
Best For
Users without fan-equipped halo straps who still want breathable ice silk padding and flexibility and those who use elite style straps.
Which AMVR Facial Interface Should You Buy?
Get the FC4L if:
You want the best budget-friendly comfort upgrade and prefer leather padding.
Get the FC4A if:
You use a halo strap with a fan and want improved airflow at a lower price.
Get the FC4M if:
You want the most premium option with magnetic quick-swap convenience and top-tier ventilation.
Get the FC3 if:
You want the most versatile package with both leather and ice silk padding included.
Final Thoughts
AMVR has built some of the best facial interfaces available for the Meta Quest 3. Their adjustable knob design is genuinely useful, especially for glasses users or anyone trying to maximize comfort and FOV.
Across the board, the padding is thick and comfortable, the ventilation works well, and the pricing is very reasonable compared to competing accessories.
Personally:
- The FC4L is probably the best value overall.
- The FC4A and FC4M shine when paired with fan-equipped halo straps like the BOBOVR S3 Pro or AMVR BS1.
- The FC3 remains the most versatile all-around option.
No matter which one you choose, all four are major upgrades over the stock Quest 3 facial interface.
